Project Kishori

Prazna Foundation’s Project Kishori has been continuously striving to provide help to children from underprivileged backgrounds. Girls have to face different kinds of situations and menstrual hygiene is one of them. It has been found that awareness regarding menstrual hygiene was higher in urban adolescent girls as compared to rural girls. Underprivileged communities face the issue of improper sanitation and knowledge regarding menstrual hygiene is very limited.

This creates the problem of embarrassment and girls shy away from facing their problems. Upon that misinformed people level up the field and do not allow the issues to be discussed. This fosters the requirement of properly addressing the issues of menstrual hygiene and sanitation. In order to address these issues, Project Kishori has adopted a holistic approach that incubates education, resources, and community engagement that can nullify these problems faced by people from underprivileged backgrounds.

With our initiative of Project Kishori, we have aimed to support girls and women in managing their Menstrual Health in such a manner that keeps their dignity and confidence. This project informs about the crucial need for proper menstrual hygiene management, providing education, resources, and sanitary products.

The main goal of Project Kishori is to highlight the need for proper menstrual hygiene and overcome the lack of awareness on issues of sanitation, menstrual hygiene, and reproductive health. There are workshops that provide sanitary kits and educational materials.

They are aimed at spreading awareness about hygiene and how to overcome societal embarrassment. By collaborating with a large number of schools, communities, and healthcare providers, project Kishori creates a cohesive environment where young girls can discuss their concerns in an extroverted manner. This effort increases the number of children attending school as the rate of dropouts is reduced and every girl can continue her education.

With our efforts of spreading awareness among children of underprivileged backgrounds, we have empowered girls and women to make informed decisions about their menstrual health and make a future where periods are no longer a source of shame.

Kit Distribution and Awareness Sessions at Schools

Project Kishori is actively distributing menstrual hygiene kits and awareness sessions at schools. Our volunteers are dedicated to resolving these issues by addressing them and making adolescent girls aware of how to deal with issues of women’s and girl’s health. This session along with other health education programs will generate a sense of awareness in girls regarding feminine hygiene and will help them to lead a dignified life.

Workshops for Slum Women and Girls

Project Kishori provides Workshops to create menstruation hygiene awareness in slum areas, informing women and girls about how to manage their menstrual period. They are given the right education on gender equality, the importance of education, and feminine hygiene. Within these activities they get the right platform to air themselves and talk about their issues like health and gender equality.

Donate to Empower Change!

Prazna Foundation has been proactive since 2019, for the cause of women’s and girl’s education and hygiene. For this, it has been conducting Girl’s education programs, women empowerment programs, and women’s health awareness programs in underprivileged areas.

Our prime objectives include the distribution of sanitary pads to the girls in need. Under Project Kishori, we adopt one girl for a year, providing her with all the necessary menstrual hygiene products for just ₹450.

Celebrating  Prazna’s anniversary, we are taking a significant step by distributing 5,000 sanitary hygiene kits, targeting to enhance the availability of essential hygiene products for women and girls.

Sanitary kits contain 10 essential items under the menstrual hygiene program related to women’s hygiene carefully selected to ensure that each girl has the resources that she needs to manage her periods. Through this initiative, we aim to offer every girl who comes from an underprivileged background, a sense of courage to manage her periods and not feel embarrassed about it.

Through Project Kishori, we give them an open platform to discuss their problems and find solutions to them. This will enrich their lives with healthy lifestyles and they will strive forward to achieve their goals and become a successful citizen of the Nation. You can also become a part of this successful campaign with your wilful donation.
